Munjya Box Office Collection Day 7: Sharvari’s Film Crosses 35Cr In Week 1; Did It Beat Shraddha’s Stree?

Munjya Box Office Collection Day 7: Dinesh Vijan's Maddock films is known for coming up with some of the successful horror comedies in the past and now they have a new entry in their supernatural universe. We are talking about Munjya starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari, Mona Singh, Suhas Joshi and Sathyaraj in the lead. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya is based on the legend of Munjya which is inspired by Indian folklore and is grabbing eyeballs for its impressive performances and CGI work.

As Munjya managed to create a massive buzz in the town, it opened to rave reviews from the audience. Interestingly, Munjya witnessed a decent opening of Rs 4 crores on the day of release followed by a significant hike during the opening weekend. Though Munjya did see a drop in numbers on the first Monday, it has been holding a strong ground at the box office despite competition from Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, as Munjya continues to go strong and refuses to slow down at the box office. The horror comedy raked in Rs 4 crores day 6 (first Wednesday) followed by an earning of Rs 3.9 crores on day 7 (first Wednesday). Interestingly, Munjya has managed to make a collection of Rs 35.30 crores in the first week. While this Abhay Verma and Sharvari starrer is often compared with Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree, Munjya has raked in around half of Stree's 1st week collection which was around Rs 60.38 crores.

Meanwhile, talking about her character in Munjya, Sharvari told ETimes, "My character is a modern girl who wants to achieve her dreams and prioritises them before everything else, which I think we all do nowadays. Many girls will relate to my character. Her dating life is also quite confusing, many girls will relate to that too. A very beautifully written character".
