Munjya Box Office Collection Day 9: Sharvari’s Film Sees 78% Jump In Numbers; Gives Chandu Champion Good Fight

Munjya Box Office Collection Day 9: Dinesh Vijay's Maddock Films' recent release Munjya has been one of the most talked about films these days and rightfully so. After all, this horror comedy, which is helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar, is based on the legend of Munjya which is inspired by Indian folklore and features Sharavari, Abhay Verma, Suhas Joshi, Mona Singh and Sathyaraj in key roles. The movie managed to create a massive buzz in the town and the spooky CGI creature did send a chill down the vibes.

Interestingly, Munjya opened to rave reviews from the audience and fans were seen laundering Abhay and Sharavari's performance. The horror comedy, which is the fourth film of Maddock Supernatural Universe, saw a good start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 4 crores followed by an impressive opening weekend. Though Munjya saw a dip of 80% in collections on the first Monday, the horror comedy has refused to slow down ever since and went on to rake in Rs 35.3 crores in the first week.

And now, as Munjya is in the second week, it continues to grow strong and saw an impressive jump during the second week. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Munjya raked in Rs 3.5 crores on the second Friday (day 8) followed by a jump of over 78% in numbers and minted Rs 6.25 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 45.05 crores. As Munjya is witnessing a competition from Kartik Aaryan's Chandu Champion, the horror comedy is giving the sports drama a tough fight.

Meanwhile, talking about her character in Munjya, Sharvari told ETimes, "My character is a modern girl who wants to achieve her dreams and prioritises them before everything else, which I think we all do nowadays. Many girls will relate to my character. Her dating life is also quite confusing, many girls will relate to that too. A very beautifully written character".
