Munjya Hit or Flop: Sharvari and Abhay Varma have all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days and rightfully so. After all, their much talked about film horror comedy Munjya has finally hit the screens today. Helmed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the movie is the fourth film of Maddock Supernatural Universe and revolves around the legend of Munjya which is inspired by Indian folklore. Also starring Mona Singh, Suhas Joshi and Sathyaraj in the lead, it is one of the anticipated releases of the year.
From the teaser to trailer, plot etc, everything about Munjya has got the fans excited about the film and left them wanting for more. To note, Munjya marked Sharvari's first collaboration with Abhay. As Munjya has hit the screens, speculations have been rife about how it will fare at the box office and if it will be a hit or a flop.

This horror comedy has been creating ripples ever since it was announced. After all, everyone has been eager to see the fourth installment of Maddock Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi and Bhediya. According to media reports, Munjya is made with a hefty budget from which around 50% was spent on the VFX of the film

So far, the audience has been in absolute awe of Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor's Mr and Mrs Mahi and have called it their career best performance. As fans are going gaga over the film, it is reported that Mr and Mrs Mahi is likely to make an opening day collection of Rs 5-7 crores. "The 50 per cent cost of the film was spent on the VFX. And that's a big number. That's the conviction or the importance of the VFX ... We created a creature from CGI and VFX space which came from a lot of research and development and back and forth in trying to get it right," the director told PTI

To note, Munjya has managed to create a massive buzz in the town. As there are reports about the movie raking in a collection of around Rs 1.75-2 crores on opening day, it is likely to become Sharvari's second highest opener ever Bunty Aur Babli 2 which minted Rs 2.60 crores on the day of release.

To note, Munjya has opened to decent reviews from the audience so far and fans have been in awe of this intriguing horror comedy and its plot. Everything about this Sharvari-Abhay starrer has left the critics mighty impressed. While Munjya is expected to have a slow start at the box office in the coming days owing to word of mouth, it needs to earn an impressive amount to be a true box office hit.
