Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 3: Akshay’s Film Crosses 10Cr As Kalki 2898 AD Continues To Crush It

Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 3: After winning hearts with his performance in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan early this year, Akshay Kumar is back with a new release - Sarfira. Also starring Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas in lead, Sarfira is the official Bollywood adaptation of Tamil film Sorarai Pottru starring Suriya in the lead. To note, the movies are an adaptation of G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey and revolves around a man who has the aim to make affordable airlines for low income people which several enemies try to impede.

While Sarfira marked Akshay and Radhika's first collaboration, their chemistry has left everyone intrigued. The movie has opened to mixed reviews from the audience and saw a slow start at the box office despite massive buzz. To note, Sarfira made an opening day collection of Rs 2.5 crores and recorded the second highest opening for Radhika Madan after Angerzi Medium.

Interestingly, Sarfira, which has been witnessing a strong competition from Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD, saw a hike in the numbers during the opening weekend. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Sarfira made a collection of Rs 4.25 crores on day 2 (first Saturday) followed by another hike on day 3 (first Sunday) wherein it raked in Rs 5.1 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 11.85 crores. It will be interesting to see how Sarfira will fare in the coming days amid competition from Kalki 2898 AD.

Meanwhile, talking about Sarfira, Akshay stated, "This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha for giving me this film and the opportunity to be in it". He was further seen singing praises for co-star Radhika and asserted, "This is the best performance I have ever seen. I don't know what you all think about her. She is not Maharashtrian, but she has acted like one. She is very well-spoken. Her language was very good and she has gone through whole classes to learn how to speak Marathi and what to say. That is what she has done".
