Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 5: Akshay Kumar seems to be having a hard time at the box office for a few years and his struggle continues in 2024. After an average response for his first release of the year Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, his recent release Sarfira has also opened to an average response at the box office. For the uninitiated, Sarfira also features Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas in the lead and is the official Bollywood remake of Tamil hit Sorarai Pottru which features Suriya in the the lead.

To note, Sarfira is an adaptation of G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey and revolves around a man who has the aim to make affordable airlines for low income people which several enemies try to impede. From inspiring storyline to the stellar cast, Sarfira managed to create a lot of buzz in the town and opened to decent reviews. However, Sarfira has been struggling at the box office since the first day.

The movie started the box office journey with an opening day collection of Rs 2.5 crores and went on to see a hike during the opening weekend. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Sarfira made a collection of Rs 4.25 crores on day 2 (first Saturday), Rs 5.25 crores on day 3 (first Sunday). However, the first Monday (day 4) came with a drop of over 70% and Sarfira minted Rs 1.45 crores.

Interestingly, this Akshay and Radhika starrer saw a hike on day 5 (first Tuesday) as it raked in Rs 1.87 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 15.32 crores. As Sarfira struggles at the box office, it turns out to be Akshay's 9th consecutive box office debacle after Atrangi Re, Bachchan Pandey, Samrat Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, Cuttputlli (released on OTT), Ram Setu, Selfiee, OMG 2, Mission Raniganj and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Meanwhile, talking about Sarfira, Akshay stated, "This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha for giving me this film and the opportunity to be in it". He was further seen singing praises for co-star Radhika and asserted, "This is the best performance I have ever seen. I don't know what you all think about her. She is not Maharashtrian, but she has acted like one. She is very well-spoken. Her language was very good and she has gone through whole classes to learn how to speak Marathi and what to say. That is what she has done".
