Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 6: Akshay-Radhika’s Film Sees Hike; Inches Close To 20Cr Mark

Sarfira Box Office Collection Day 6: Akshay Kumar is all over the headlines these days courtesy of his recent release Sarfira. Also starring Radhika Madan, Paresh Rawal and Seema Biswas, Sarfira marks Akshay's second release of the year after Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The movie is the official Bollywood remake of Suriya's Sorarai Pottru and is an adaptation of G. R. Gopinath's memoir Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey and revolves around a man who has the aim to make affordable airlines for low income people which several enemies try to impede.

Be it Akshay and Radhika's fresh chemistry to the inspiring storyline, Sarfira managed to create enough buzz in the town around its release. However, despite all the buzz, Sarfira has been struggling at the box office since the first day. After raking in Rs 2.5 crores on the opening day, Sarfira did see a good hike in numbers during the opening weekend. However, the first Monday came with over 70% drop in numbers.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, while Sarfira minted Rs 1.45 crores on day 4 (first Monday), it saw a slight hike in numbers on day 5 (first Tuesday) wherein in raked in Rs 1.95 crores. Interestingly, day 6 (first Wednesday) came with another jump in numbers wherein Sarfira minted Rs 2 crores as per early estimates and it took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 17.40 crores. As Sarfira is witnessing a box office competition from Nag Ashwin's 2898 AD and will be having a new competition Bad Newz hitting the theatres this Friday, it will be interesting to see how this Akshay starrer will fare at the box office in the coming days.

Meanwhile, talking about Sarfira, Akshay stated, "This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha for giving me this film and the opportunity to be in it". He was further seen singing praises for co-star Radhika and asserted, "This is the best performance I have ever seen. I don't know what you all think about her. She is not Maharashtrian, but she has acted like one. She is very well-spoken. Her language was very good and she has gone through whole classes to learn how to speak Marathi and what to say. That is what she has done".
