Savi Box Office Collection Day 1: Divya Khossla is on a roll! After 'Yaariyaan 2' the actress-filmmaker is back on screens with a never-seen-before avatar for 'Savi: A Bloody Housewife'. The action-thriller hit cinemas yesterday (31st May 2024), clashing with Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi'. Divya Khossla starrer Savi had a better-than-expected opening in cinemas, receiving mixed reviews from audiences and critics alike. Let's take a look at the opening day box office opening report.

Directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by T-Series and Vishesh Films, Savi is touted to be the modernized version of the Indian Mythological tale of 'Sati-Savitri'.

The movie - starring Divya Khossla, Harshvardhan Rane and Anil Kapoor - revolves around the story of a housewife named Savitri who goes to great lengths for her husband Nakul (played by Harshvardhan Rane) and fights against the government and administration.

The official synopsis of the film read, "Savi, a simple housewife, attempts a daring jailbreak to get her husband out of one of England's high-security prisons consisting of 400 inmates, 75 armed guards, and 60 surveillance cameras."

Divya Khossla starrer Savi: A Bloody Housewife started its theatrical journey on a good note. The film had benefited from the Cinema Lovers Day offer, where the ticket price has been slashed down to Rs 99 only.

As posted by T-Series, the action-thriller opened to a box office collection of Rs 2.05 crores.

Sharing the same, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, "#Savi springs a pleasant surprise on Day 1, benefits largely due to the discounted ticket rates [₹ 99/-] on #CinemaLoversDay... Needs to strengthen its position over the weekend [Sat - Sun] to leave a mark."

According to Sacnilk, the movie had an overall 42.17% Hindi occupancy on Friday, May 31, 2024!

Savi Fails To Beat Mr. & Mrs. Mahi On Day 1

Despite a good opening, Savi failed to beat Karan Johar-produced Mr. & Mrs. Mahi by a good margin. Directed by Sharan Sharma, Mr. & Mrs Mahi raked in Rs 6.85 crores on day 1. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead, the movie is a perfect blend of romance, cricket and emotions.
