Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajkummar’s Film Sees Decent Hike; Fails To Beat Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 3: Rajkummar Rao has all the reasons to be on cloud nine these days. After all, his first release of the year is winning hearts. We are talking about Tushar Hiranandani directorial Srikanth which also features Sharad Kelkar, Alaya F and Jyothika. To note, the movie, which had Rajkummar in the titular role, is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries.
Srikanth has opened to rave reviews from the audience and Rajkummar's phenomenal performance has left everyone in absolute awe. Given the substantial buzz and the endearing trailer, Srikanth witnessed a decent start at the box office and Rajkummar Rao got his second highest opener. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Srikanth made an opening day collection of Rs 2.25 crores on day 1 (Friday).
As the movie saw a positive word of mouth, Srikanth saw a jump of 86.67% and made a collection of Rs 4.2 crores on day 2 (Saturday). Srikanth continued the strong hold at the box office during the opening weekend and reportedly made a collection of Rs 5.50 crores on day 3 (Sunday) as per early estimates which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 11.95 crores
If the reports turned out to be turned out to be true, Srikanth failed to beat Ajay Devgn's Maidaan on the first Sunday despite impressive growth. For the uninitiated, Ajay Devgn's sports drama had minted Rs 6.4 crores on the first Sunday at the box office.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar got candid about playing the lead role in Srikanth and stated that he could relate with his background. "I could definitely resonate with his perseverance, with his grit and his working nature. I wouldn't say exactly, but I could somehow relate with his background because he too comes from a very humble background. And in my life also there were a lot of hardships when it came to money and having a big dream in life and to actually achieve that dream was something I could relate to," he told Firstpost.
