Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajkummar’s Film Goes Strong; Beats Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan On 1st Tuesday

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 5: Rajkummar Rao starrer Srikanth has been the talk of the town ever since it was announced. After all, it is one of the most endearing and inspiring movies of the year and has been winning hearts with the trailer release itself. Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries. Starring Rajkummar in the titular role, Srikanth also features Jyothika, Sharad Kelkar and Alaya F in the lead.
After the endearing trailer grabbing eyeballs, Srikanth opened to rave reviews from the critics and audience. The fans were seen hailing Rajkummar and Jyothika's inspiring performance and also demanded a 'National Award' for the Stree actor. Interestingly, Srikanth saw a good start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 2.25 crores (day 1/ first Friday) followed by an impressive opening weekend.
While the first Monday came with a massive dip in numbers, Srikanth managed to pick up on the first Tuesday. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Srikanth raked in Rs 1.65 crores on first Monday (day 4). This Tushar Hiranandani directorial saw a growth of 1.82% and minted Rs 1.68 crores on the first Tuesday (day 5). Given the trend, Srikanth is expected to go strong in the first week.
Interestingly, as Srikanth continuest to win hearts, it has managed to beat Ajay Devgn's Maidaan at the box office on the first Tuesday. Yes! You read it right. Maidaan, which was helmed by Amit Sharma, had minted Rs 1.6 crores. It will be interesting to see how Srikanth will fare in the coming days and the milestones it will achieve.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar got candid about playing the lead role in Srikanth and stated that he could relate with his background. "I could definitely resonate with his perseverance, with his grit and his working nature. I wouldn't say exactly, but I could somehow relate with his background because he too comes from a very humble background. And in my life also there were a lot of hardships when it came to money and having a big dream in life and to actually achieve that dream was something I could relate to," he told Firstpost.
