Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 6: Rajkummar Rao’s Film Beats Janhvi Kapoor’s Roohi Despite Dip In Numbers

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 6

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 6: Rajkummar Rao is one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood who has proved his mettle time and again on the big screen. In his career of around 14 years, Rajkummar has given several iconic performances and has successfully carved a niche for himself. And now, Rajkummar is once again making headlines and this time for his recent release. We are talking about Tushar Hiranandani's directorial Srikanth.

The movie happens to be a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries. Apart from Rajkummar, Srikanth also features Jyothika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar in the lead. To note, Srikanth had managed to create a substantial buzz in the town with its endearing trailer and has opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. In fact, everyone has been lauding Rajkummar's performance in the titular role.

Given the buzz, Srikanth saw a good start with an opening day collection of Rs 2.25 crores and saw continuous hike during the opening weekend. While Srikanth did struggle during the first Monday, it has managed to keep a steady and strong hold at the box office during the first week. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Srikanth made a collection of Rs 1.65 crores on first Monday (day 4) followed by an earning of Rs 1.6 crores on first Tuesday (day 5).

Interestingly, Srikanth has been witnessing a continuous dip in numbers are raked in Rs 1.50 crores on first Wednesday (day 6) as per early trends which took the overall collection of the movie to Rs 16.45 crores. While the official numbers are yet to be out, Srikanth seems to have beaten Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Roohi on first Wednesday. For the uninitiated, Roohi had minted Rs 1.20 crores on its first Wednesday.

To note, Rajkummar will soon be collaborating again with Janhvi for the second time for Sharan Sharma's Mr & Mrs Mahi which is slated to release on May 31. Meanwhile, Janhvi got candid about the movie and said, "Our director is a purist and works with a lot of honesty, so he wanted me to become a cricketer for the film. He didn't want any cheating on that, didn't want to use VFX, or do anything half-heartedly. He wanted me to be one with this universe, be a cricketer wholeheartedly. I suffered a lot of injuries as well while prepping. Both my shoulders were dislocated, but I'd like to give all the credit to him, the director, and both my coaches Abhishek Nayar and Vikrant sir, who have done a lot of hard work and have held my hand at every turn"
