Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 7: Rajkummar Rao’s Film Fails To Beat Janhvi Kapoor’s Roohi On 1st Thursday

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 7: Rajkummar Rao has been all over the headlines these days and rightfully so. After all, he had two big releases in the month of May - Srikanth and Mr & Mrs Mahi. While Srikanth had hit the screens on May 10, the movie had opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics alike. Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanht also features Alaya F, Sharad Kelkar and Jyothika in the lead.
For the uninitiated, Srikanth is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries with Rajkummar playing the titular role. Interestingly, given the substantial buzz, Srikanth opened to a good start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 2.25 crores. The positive word of mouth helped Srikanth to see a good spike in the opening weekend.
However, the first Monday came with a massive jolt for Srikanth as the movie saw over 68% dip in numbers. According to Sacnilk, Srikanth made a collection of Rs 1.65 crores on day 4 (first Monday) followed by an earning of Rs 1.6 crores on day 5 (first Tuesday) and a collection of Rs 1.5 crores on day 6 (first Wednesday). As Srikanth has been witnessing a continuous dip in numbers, the movie has managed to have a good hold at the box office.
As per the early estimates, Srikanth has made a collection of Rs 1.45 crores on day 7 (first Thursday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 17.90 crores. To note, Srikanth has failed to beat Rajkummar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor starrer Roohi which had minted Rs 2.90 crores on its first Thursday. It will be interesting to see if Srikanth will manage to pick up pace during the second weekend.
To note, Rajkummar will soon be collaborating again with Janhvi for the second time for Sharan Sharma's Mr & Mrs Mahi which is slated to release on May 31. Meanwhile, Janhvi got candid about the movie and said, "Our director is a purist and works with a lot of honesty, so he wanted me to become a cricketer for the film. He didn't want any cheating on that, didn't want to use VFX, or do anything half-heartedly. He wanted me to be one with this universe, be a cricketer wholeheartedly. I suffered a lot of injuries as well while prepping. Both my shoulders were dislocated, but I'd like to give all the credit to him, the director, and both my coaches Abhishek Nayar and Vikrant sir, who have done a lot of hard work and have held my hand at every turn"
