Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 9: Rajkummar Rao has been one of the most versatile actors in Bollywood who has proved his mettle time and again on the big screen. In his career of around 14 years, Rajkummar has given us several iconic performances and has always been a treat to watch. Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, Srikanth is a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries and also featured Jyothika, Alaya F and Sharad Kelkar in the lead. The movie featured Rajkummar Rao in the titular role and left everyone in absolute awe with his spectacular performance. Given the buzz in the town and the endearing trailer, Srikanth opened to a decent response from the audience.
Srikanth saw a good start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 2.25 crores. While it saw a decent hike in numbers during the opening weekend, the weekdays came with flight but continuous dip in collections. However, Srikanth has managed to have a strong hold at the box office. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Srikanth minted Rs 1.5 crores on day 8 (second Friday) and saw 88.6% jump in numbers during the second weekend.
It is reported, Srikanth raked in Rs 2.83 crores on day 9 (second Saturday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 22.18 crores. Interestingly, Srikanth has managed to beat Ajay Devgn's Maidaan and Akshay Kumar's Bade Miyan Chote Miyan on second Saturday. To note, Maidaan and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan had minted Rs 2.5 crores and Rs 1.7 crores respectively on second Saturday. It will be interesting to see how Srikanth will be faring at the box office in coming days.
Meanwhile, Rajkummar got candid about playing the lead role in Srikanth and stated that he could relate to his background. "I could definitely resonate with his perseverance, with his grit and his working nature. I wouldn't say exactly, but I could somehow relate to his background because he too comes from a very humble background. And in my life also there were a lot of hardships when it came to money and having a big dream in life and to actually achieve that dream was something I could relate to," he told Firstpost.
