Srikanth Box Office Day 22 Prediction: Rajkummar’s Film Struggles To Survive As Mr & Mrs Mahi Releases

Srikanth Box Office Collection Day 22 Prediction: It's a big day today for Rajkummar Rao as his much anticipated release Mr and Mrs Mahi is hitting the the screens today. Interestingly, the movie marks the second release for Rajkummar this month as he has already been making headlines for his previous release Srikanth which had hit the screens on May 10.Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, the movie also featured Sharad Kelkar, Jyothika and Alaya F in the lead.

To note, Srikanth happened to be a biopic on Srikanth Bolla, a visually-impaired industrialist and the founder of Bollant Industries. Starring Rajkummar in the titular role, Srikanth opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics and turned out to be an endearing watch. Interestingly, the movie also witnessed a decent start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 2.24 crores followed by an impressive opening weekend.

While the weekdays came with slight dips in collections for Srikanth, the weekends were a beam of joy that came in with a good hike in numbers. However, after witnessing a good jump in numbers during the third weekend, Srikanth was seen struggling at the box office during the third week. In fact, this Rajkummar Rao starrer struggled to make Rs 1 crore at the box office during the third week and with Mr and Mrs Mahi hitting the screens today, Srikanth is likely to struggle to at the box office.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Srikanth has managed to rake in Rs 85 lakhs on the third Wednesday (day 20) followed by a collection of Rs 79 lakhs yesterday (day 21/ third Thursday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 40.34 crores. Given the ongoing trend, Srikanth is expected to see another drop in collections and is likely to mint Rs 60-70 lakhs today (day 22/ fourth Friday) at the box office. It will be interesting to see if Srikanth will be able to pick up pace during the weekend amid competition from Mr and Mrs Mahi.

Interestingly, as Rajkummar is enjoying the love coming his way with Srikant, his Mr and Mrs Mahi with Janhvi Kapoor marks Rajkummar's second collaboration with Janvhi after Roohi. Recently, Janhvi got candid about this Sharan Sharma directorial and said, "Our director is a purist and works with a lot of honesty, so he wanted me to become a cricketer for the film. He didn't want any cheating on that, didn't want to use VFX, or do anything half-heartedly. He wanted me to be one with this universe, be a cricketer wholeheartedly. I suffered a lot of injuries as well while prepping. Both my shoulders were dislocated, but I'd like to give all the credit to him, the director, and both my coaches Abhishek Nayar and Vikrant sir, who have done a lot of hard work and have held my hand at every turn"
