Starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, Stree 2 happens to be the much talked about sequel to 2018 release horror comedy Stree which was a massive hit among the fans. And now, Stree 2 has managed to create a substantial buzz in the town and emerged as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

From cast, to trailers, songs and dialogues, everything about Stree 2 has managed to intrigue the audience. And while it will be an Independence day release, Stree 2 will be witnessing a box office clash with Khel Khel Mein and Vedaa making it an ultimate treat for the fans. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, producer and film business expert Girish Johar has stated that Stree 2 is likely to become the highest opener of the year.

"Stree 2 has definitely broken the advances of Fighter. It is poised to become one of the biggest starts to 2024 for sure. There is no to way for that. Despite two major releases in the Hindi market, it is still eyeing the best start itself speaks wonders about the praise of the film. We are eyeing for over Rs 30 crores. Baki word of mouth pe depend karta hai. Wednesday ko paid reviews honge, feedback aayega, agar logon ko pasand aayi to Rs 30cr bhi cross kar sakta hai, agar expectations match nahi hua to it can come down also," he was quoted saying.

If the reports turned out to be true, Stree 2 Sarkate Ka Aatank will mark as Rajkummar and Shraddha's highest opener ever respectively as the horror comedy is expected to shatter records at the box office. In fact, Stree 2 will also beat Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter which raked in Rs 22.5 crores on day 1 and become the highest opener of 2024.

Meanwhile, talking about Stree 2, Rajkummar Rao had told Film Companion, "Same word, same people. It's bigger for sure, same duniya, kuch nahi badla hai. I think jo soul thi uss film ki wo isme bhi hai".
