Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 11: Shraddha’s Film Beats Jawan, Gadar 2; Records Highest 2nd Sunday Number

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 11: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's Stree 2, which has been creating waves ever since it hit the theatres, continues to be unstoppable in the second week. The horror comedy, which has been helmed by Amar Kaushik and also features Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead, has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. To note, Stree 2 is the sequel to 2018 release Stree and it opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics.
In fact, Stree 2 witnessed a phenomenal opening at the box office wherein it recorded an opening day box office collection of Rs 60.3 crores (including paid reviews) and has been shattering records ever since. The movie saw an impressive hike during the opening weekend and left everyone in awe. Though the first week did come with a continuous drop in numbers for Stree 2 but it maintained a good hold at the box office and has been achieving new milestones with every day.

Interestingly, the second weekend came a huge sigh of relief for Stree 2 as the movie had picked up pace once again. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 saw a jump of 88% on day 10 (second Saturday) wherein it minted Rs 33 crores at the box office. The movie saw another hike in collections and raked in Rs 44 crores on day 11 (second Sunday) and took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 386.15 crores

Interestingly, Stree 2 has managed to beat Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 to record the all time highest second Sunday collection. For the uninitiated, Gadar 2 had minted Rs 38.9 crores followed by Baahubali 2 (Rs 34.5 crores) and Jawan (Rs 34.26 crores). This isn't all. Stree has also recorded the highest day 11 collection at the box office and managed to surpass Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan which minted Rs 34.26 crores.

Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee has spilled beans about the third installment of Stree series and told Indian Express, "It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won't take six years to make it, like we did with Stree 2. That's for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor I am dying to be back on that set".
