Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 13: Rajkummar’s Film Slows Down; Struggles To Cross 15Cr On Second Tuesday

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 13: Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in the lead, has been one of the biggest hits of the year. The horror comedy, which revolved around the Sarkata bhoot haunting Chanderi town, has managed to win millions of hearts not only in India but also across the world. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 also features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in key roles along with Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia in a cameo.

As Stree 2 was released amid a massive buzz, it also had a box office clash with Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa. But Stree 2 remained unfazed by the clash and went on to crush other releases to emerge as a winner. As the horror comedy opened to rave reviews, it made a staggering opening day collection of Rs 60.3 crores (including paid reviews) and saw an impressive hike during the opening weekend.

While the first week did come with a drop in numbers, Stree 2 managed to pick up pace during the second weekend and left everyone bewildered. The Amar Kaushik directorial not only recorded the highest second Sunday collection but also managed to enter the prestigious Rs 400 crores club. But looks like Stree 2 has slowed down after entering the second week at the box office. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 raked in Rs 18.5 crores on day 12 (second Monday) and went on to record the lowest single day collection on day 13 (second Tuesday). The movie raked in Rs 11.5 crores and took the overall collections to Rs 414.55 crores

Stree 2 Box Office Records On Second Tuesday

While Stree 2 is slowing its pace, it still managed to create records at the box office. The horror comedy managed to beat Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 (Rs 10 crores) and Ranbir Kapoor's Animal (Rs 9.75 crores) on 13th day of release and recorded the third highest day 13 collection. This isn't all. Stree 2 also recorded the fifth highest second Tuesday collection after Baahubali 2, Jawan, Gadar 2 and Animal respectively.

Is Stree 3 On Cards?

Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee has spilled beans about the third installment of Stree series and told Indian Express, "It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won't take six years to make it, like we did with Stree 2. That's for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor I am dying to be back on that set".
