Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 14: Rajkummar’s Film Struggles As It Completes Week 2; Fails To Cross 425Cr

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 14: Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 has been one of the most talked about films of the year for several reasons. While the movie marked Rajkummar and Shraddha's second collaboration, it also happened to be the sequel to the 2018 release Stree. This isn't all. Stree 2, which has been helmed by Amar Kaushik, also boasted an impressive cast of Abhishek Banerjee, Aparshakti Khurana and Pankaj Tripathi along with Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia in cameo.

Stree 2, which revolved around the sarkata bhoot who has been targeting the women of Chanderi, came with a perfect mixture of horror and humour clubbed together. Needless to say, Stree 2 opened to rave reviews from the audience and the massive buzz has been encashed well at the box office. The horror comedy witnessed and impressive start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 60.3 crores (including the paid reviews). While Stree 2 maintained a good hold during the first week and saw a phenomenal jump during the second weekend, the film has been witnessing a continuous drop in numbers during the second week.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2, which saw a significant drop in numbers on the second Monday, has slowed down during the second week. After horror comedy saw a fall of over 50% in numbers on day 12 (second Monday) wherein it raked in Rs 18.5 crores followed by a collection of Rs 11.75 crores on day 13 (second Tuesday). Stree 2 recorded its lowest single day collection ever on day 14 (second Wednesday) as it minted Rs 9.45 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 424.25 crores.

Stree 2 Records Highest Week 2 Collection: Stree 2 Beats Baahubali 2

Interestingly, despite witnessing a continuous drop in numbers, Stree 2 managed to create a record at the box office in week 2. Reportedly, Stree 2 has recorded the highest week 2 collection of all times. To note, the Amar Kaushik directorial raked in Rs 149.4 crores in week 2 and managed to beat Prabhas' Baahubali 2 (Rs 143.25 crores) and Gadar 2 (Rs 134.47 crores).

Is Stree 3 On Cards?

Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee has spilled beans about the third installment of Stree series and told Indian Express, "It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won't take six years to make it, like we did with Stree 2. That's for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor I am dying to be back on that set".
