Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 22: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor have all the reasons to grin from ear to ear these days. After all, their recent release Stree 2 has emerged as the biggest blockbuster of 2024 so far. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 happens to be a horror comedy which the much awaited sequel to he 2018 release Stree. The movie marks Rajkummar's third release of the year and also features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead. Given the massive buzz, Stree 2 opened to rave reviews from the audience.

Interestingly, Stree 2 recorded the highest opening of the year with a collection of Rs 60.3 crores. The movie went on to have an impressive hold at the box office during the opening weekend. In fact, while Stree 2 witnessed a box office clash with John Abraham's Vedaa and Akshay Kumar starrer Vedaa, the horror comedy remained unfazed by the clash and crushed other films at the box office. While this Amar Kaushik directorial witnessed a significant and continuous drop in week 3, it has still managed to have a good hold at the ticket windows especially with no new releases coming its way.

And now, as Stree 2 has entered the fourth week, it continues its winning streak and is achieving milestones with every passing day. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 raked in Rs 5.6 crores on day 21 (third Wednesday) and saw a slight drop of 5.1% in collections on day 22 (fourth Thursday) as it entered the coveted Rs 500 crores club. To note, Stree 2 made a collection of Rs 5.31 crores on day 22 (fourth Thursday) taking the overall collections of the movie to Rs 503.21 crores.

Stree 2 Becomes Second Fastest Movie To Cross 500Cr

Interestingly, Stree 2 has been giving a tough fight to blockbuster hits like Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Jawan, Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, Prabhas' Baahubali 2 etc. With a collection of Rs 5.31 crores on day 22, the horror comedy has managed to beat Gadar 2 (Rs 5.2 crores) to record the third highest day 22 collection after KGF 2 (Rs 6.3 crores) and Jawan (Rs 5.81 crores). This isn't all. Stree 2 has also become the second fastest Bollywood film to cross Rs 500 crores mark in India after Jawan which achieved the milestone in 18 days.

Meanwhile, after the phenomenal success of Stree 2, there have been speculations about the makers planning the third installment. Talking about the same, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the role of Janaa in the franchise, told the Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time, some parts of the script have been written. He also emphasised that it will be "a big epic saga".
