Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 24: Rajkummar’s Film Sees Over 90% Hike During 4th Weekend; Crosses 515Cr

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 24: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 is now in the fourth week now and the movie seems to be unstoppable. The horror comedy has been helmed by Amar Kaushik and has ended the long dry spell at the box office as it took the ticket windows with a storm. For the uninitiated, Stree 2, which also features Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana, is the fifth installment of the Maddock Supernatural Universe including Stree, Roohi, Bhediya and Munjya.

As Stree 2 opened to rave reviews and the fans were in absolute awe of Rajkummar and Shraddha's chemistry along with several jumpscare moments with the sarkatat bhoot. In fact, Stree 2 also witnessed a phenomenal start at the box office with an opening day collection of Rs 60.3 crores. This was followed by an impressive hike during the opening weekend and the horror comedy even maintained a good hold until the third weekend. In fact, Stree 2 also crushed Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa which had also released on August 15.

Though Stree 2 has been witnessing a continuous drop of late and has been struggling to cross Rs 10 crores mark in a single day, it has still managed to have a good hold at the box office. After all, the horror comedy has free way at the ticket windows with now big releases in the way. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 had minted Rs 4.5 crores on day 23 (fourth Friday) and went on to see a growth of over 90% on day 24 (fourth Saturday). Stree 2 raked in Rs 8.75 crores on day 24 which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 516.5 crores.

Stree 2 Beats Jawan; Records Second Highest Day 24 Collection

Interestingly, Stree 2, which has been giving a tough time to SRK's Jawan and Sunny Deol's Gadar 2, has created another record. Yes! This Rajkummar starrer has managed to beat Jawan and has recorded the second highest day 24 collection after URI: The Surgical Strike. For the uninitiated, URI: The Surgical Strike had raked in Rs 8.92 crores on its 24th day of release.

Meanwhile, after the phenomenal success of Stree 2, there have been speculations about the makers planning the third installment. Talking about the same, Abhishek Banerjee, who plays the role of Janaa in the franchise, told the Indian Express that while Stree 3 will take some time, some parts of the script have been written. He also emphasised that it will be "a big epic saga".
