The horror comedy is directed by Amar Kaushik and features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead. In fact, Stree 2 also boasts cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia. For the uninitiated, Stree 2 happens to be the much awaited sequel to the 2018 release Stree and the fifth installment of the Maddock Supernatural Universe.

As Stree 2 was released amid massive buzz, this Amar Kaushik directorial opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics. After all, post Stree, the audience was now in awe of the sarkata bhoot who has been haunting the women of Chanderi. Interestingly, Stree 2 has managed to set the box office on fire since the first day and rake in Rs 60.3 crores on the opening day making it the highest opener of 2024. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2, which has been struggling since the fourth week, as finally picked up some pace in the week 5. Reportedly, Stree 2 minted Rs 3.35 crores on day 30 (fifth Friday) and saw another hike of over 60% as it earned Rs 5.25 crores on day 31 (fifth Saturday) taking the overall collections of the movie to Rs 547.95 crores.

Given the ongoing trends, Stree 2 is likely to see another hike in numbers today (day 32/ fifth Sunday). The horror comedy is likely to earn Rs 5-7 crores today. It will be crossing Rs 550 crores mark at the box office and will be inching close to Rs 555 crores mark

Meanwhile, Rajkummar is now gearing up for the release of his fourth film of the year. We are talking about Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video opposite Triptii Dimri which is slated to release on October 11. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video is touted to be a comedy drama.
