Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Shraddha’s Film Crosses 200Cr Despite Dip; Beats KGF 2 To Create A Record

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: After the phenomenal success of Stree in 2018, all eyes were set on Stree 2 this year for several reasons. To begin with, the horror comedy once again brought together the hit jodi of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor along with impressive supporting acts by Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana. Besides, this Amar Kaushik directorial brought the new villain Sarkata bhoot and some interesting cameos by Akshay Kumar, Varun Dhawan and Tamannaah Bhatia.

Given the massive buzz, Stree 2 became one of the most anticipated releases of the year. And while high expectations were pinned for Stree 2, the horror comedy not only lived up to the expectations but has also been shattering box office records. Yes! After opening to rave reviews from the audience and critics, Stree 2 made an opening day collection of Rs 60.3 crores (including paid reviews) and became the highest opener of the year.

This isn't all. Stree 2 maintained an incredible hold at the box office during the opening weekend and went on to cross Rs 190 crores mark after day 4 (first Sunday). This isn't all. Stree 2 also managed to beat Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan to record the second highest day 4 collection (Rs 55 crores) ever after Jawan (Rs 71.63 crores). And while the first Monday is usually critical to decide the movie's fate, Stree 2 managed to pass the test with flying colours.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 saw a jump of 27.48% on day 4 (first Sunday) wherein the movie earned Rs 55.9 crores. Interestingly, Stree 2 minted saw a significant drop in numbers on the first Monday which was around 33.81% and minted Rs 37 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 228.45 crores.

Interestingly, Stree 2 managed to beat Yash starrer KGF Chapter 2 to become the 5th fastest film to cross 200 crores in India after Jawan, Animal, Pathaan and Gadar 2 respectively. For the uninitiated, KGF 2 had minted Rs 219.56 crores in 5 days.

Meanwhile, Stree 2 had witnessed a box office clash with Akshay Kumar's
Khel Khel Mein and John Abraham's Vedaa and the horror comedy has managed to crush the other releases at the box office.
