Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Rajkummar’s Film Continues Winning Streak As It Crosses 275Cr In Week 1

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor have all the reasons to be on cloud nine. After all, their recent release Stree 2 has been doing wonders at the box office since the first day. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree 2 also features Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi in key roles and happens to be the fifth installment of Maddock Supernatural Universe after Stree, Roohi, Bhediya and Munjya. Given the success of the 2018 release Stree, Stree 2 turned out to be one of the most the anticipated releases of the year
While Stree 2 also featured cameos by Varun Dhawan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Akshay Kumar, the horror comedy opened to rave reviews from the audience and critics. In fact, Stree 2 witnessed a thunderous opening with a collection of Rs 60.3 crores (including paid reviews) on the day of release. This isn't all. Stree 2 not only became one of the fastest movies to enter the Rs 100 crores club but also crossed Rs 190 crores mark during the opening weekend. In fact, while Stree 2 has been witnessing a continuous dip in numbers since the first Monday, it continued to have a good hold at the box office despite the drop.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 earned Rs 38.1 crores on day 5 (first Monday) followed by a collection of Rs 25.8 crores on day 6 (first Tuesday). The horror comedy saw another dip in numbers and raked in Rs 20 crores on day 7 (first Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 275.35 crores in week 1.
Stree 2 Beats KGF 2's Week 1 Collection
Interestingly, while Stree 2 has recorded the eighth highest day 7 collections of all time, it has managed to beat KGF Chapter 2's first week collection to record the fifth highest week 1 collection. For the uninitiated, KGF Chapter 2 had minted Rs 268.63 crores in week 1 in the Hindi market.
Meanwhile, talking about the phenomenal success of Stree 2, Amar Kaushik told Connect Cine, "I didn't expect this big response. I think the audience wants such films to come out. Where ever I would go, people kept asking me 'What is the end of Stree?' This film was made on public demand. We didn't hurry with this film because we wanted to do justice to the story. We thought it clicked well with the public when we released the trailer but when we opened the advance ticket sale, we were like, 'What is happening?' This is just love of the public".
