Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajkummar’s Film Beats Pathaan Despite Dip; Creates THIS Record In Week 2

Stree 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor are in the celebratory mode right now and rightfully so. After all, their recent release Stree 2, which marks their second collaboration after Stree, has been doing wonders at the box office. Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy also features Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and Aparshakti Khurana in the lead along with cameos from Akshay Kumar, Tamannaah Bhatia and Varun Dhawan. Needless to say, Stree 2 has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

From the storyline revolving around the Sarkata Bhoot to peppy soundtrack, impressive performance and more, everything about Stree 2 has managed to create a massive buzz in the town. Interestingly, Stree 2 recorded the highest opening day collection of 2024 with an earning of Rs 60.3 crores (including the paid reviews) and went on to cross Rs 190 crores during the opening weekend. And while the first Monday came with a drop in numbers, Stree 2 maintains a strong hold at the box office in week 1.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Stree 2 raked in Rs 274. 35 crores in week 1. However, week 2 has started on a slow note for Stree 2 at the box office. After raking in Rs 19 crores on day 7 (first Wednesday), the horror comedy saw a significant drop in numbers and raked in Rs 16 crores on day 8 (second Thursday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 290.85 crores. To note, this happens to be the lowest single day collection for Stree 2 so far. However, despite the dip, Stree 2 has managed to beat Pathaan and recorded the second highest second Thursday collection after Jawan which had minted Rs 20.1 crores.

Is Stree 3 On Cards?

Meanwhile, Abhishek Banerjee has spilled beans about the third installment of Stree series and told Indian Express, "It will take time. Now that Stree 2 has become such a big hit, I know that it won't take six years to make it, like we did with Stree 2. That's for sure. Some parts of the script are already written. It is going to be a big epic saga and as an actor I am dying to be back on that set".
