Three big film were released on Independence Day, August 15, and the box office clash had to be bigger than ever. According to Sacnilk reports, Stree 2 has emerged to become the biggest opener of the year beating the other two films. It even surpassed Gadar 2, which collected Rs. 40.1 Cr on day 1, in terms of opening day collection. As per the industry tracker, the film has made Rs. 54.35 Cr. on the opening day. As per the early estimates, the film collected Rs. 46 Cr on Thursday and Rs. 8.35 Cr on Wednesday evening shows. This makes Stree 2 the biggest Hindi opener of the year by beating Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter which collected Rs. 24.6 Cr on its opening day.

On the other hand, John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh starrer lagged way behind Stree 2. It collected Rss. 6.52 Cr on its opening day and its collection mostly came from Hindi market.

Among the three films, Akshay Kumar and Vaani Kapoor starrer collected the lowest on its opening day. It minted only Rs. 5 Cr on Independence Day. Although Khel Khel Mein outperformed Vedaa in terms of advance booking, the latter surpassed the former when it came to spot booking.
