The Buckingham Murders Box Office Collection Day 5: Hansal Mehta Says 'Don't Have Money'; Re-Release & Budget

Hansal Mehta Speaks On The Buckingham Murders Box Office Collection: The Buckingham Murders is co-produced by Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Motion Pictures. When asked whether she believed The Buckingham Murders is a commercial movie, Ekta relied, "Who said this isn't a commercial film? The Buckingham Murders has covered its full cost, including P&A." At the trailer launch, Ekta cleared that the movie was already "profitable" both theatrically and at the box office. The movie happens to be Ekta and Kareena Kapoor's 4th collaboration after The Crew, Veere Di Wedding, and Udta Punjab. Amid the movie's box office collection, director of The Buckingham Murders reflected whether the numbers matter to him or not.

According to Sacnilk's early reports, The Buckingham Murders grossed 0.75 Crores. This has made the overall collection move to Rs. 6.80 Crores.

Hansal Mehta Speaks On The Buckingham Murders' Box Office

When asked whether Box Office matters, Hansal Mehta said to TOI, "What matters to me is return on investment." He then questioned, "Has the film recovered its investment? Has the film made money?" Hansal added that "I do with that knowledge that has happened and whatever will happen after that is a bonus."

Talking about the comparison between Tumbbad's re-release and The Buckingham Murders, Hansal said, "I would love to have them re-released, but re-releasing also is very expensive. I mean the films that have re-released, a lot of money has been spent on re-releasing them." He further claimed, "The kind of money that has been spent on Tumbbad right now; they've more hoardings than Buckingham Murders. The amount of marketing budget that they seem to have put in is phenomenal. And hats off to Sohum (Shah), for putting his money where his heart is." Talking about the re-release, Hansal said, "I don't have that money." He further claims to survive on what he earn.
