Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 4: Sohum’s Film Earns More Than Opening Day On 1st Monday Post Re-Release

Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 4: Sohum Shah has all the reasons to grin from ear to ear. After all, his film Tumbbad which had re-released in theatres after six years and is doing wonders at the box office. To note, the 2018 release folk horror film is helmed by Rahi Anil Barve and is written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Rahi Anil Barve. Apart from Sohum, Tumbbad also features Rurdra Soni, Harsh K, Anita Date-Kelkar etc in the lead and has received a grand response from the audience.

For the uninitiated, Tumbbad narrates around the jinxed ancestral wealth of a Konkanastha Brahmin family from Tumbbad, a village who the gods have also cursed. Appartently, Tumbbad residents had built a temple to worship Hastar, the demon god following which the Gods cursed the village with incessant rain. While the plot and storyline left everyone impressed, it is winning the box office game post its re-release. To note, while Tumbbad had minted Rs 65 lakhs on the opening day during its initial release, it went on to mint over twice its opening day collection lately post its re-release.

Tumbbad Box Office Collection So Far Post Re-Release

Interestingly, Tumbbad made an opening day collection of Rs 1.50 crores, followed by a hike in numbers during the opening weekend. According to media reports, Tumbbad has minted Rs 2.60 crores on day 2 (first Saturday) and also earned Rs 3.25 crores on day 3 (first Sunday). Now, as per the recent update by Sacnilk, Tumbbad has earned more than its opening day on the first Monday post re-release

To note, according to a tweet shared by Sacnilk, Tumbbad has earned more than its opening day collection on the first Monday (day 4). While Tumbbad had minted Rs 1.50 crores on day 1, the first Monday collections are likely to be Rs 1.60 crores taking the overall collection of the movie to Rs 8.35 crore. The official numbers are expected to be out soon.

Tumbbad Beats The Buckingham Murders At The Box Office

Interestingly, Tumbbad has been witnessing a box office clash with Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders. In fact, Tumbbad has managed to outshine The Buckingham Murders and has been beating this Hansal Mehta directorial every day at the box office. To note, while Tumbbad made an opening weekend collection of Rs 7.50 crores while The Buckingham Murder had earned Rs 5.25 crores during the weekend.

Meanwhile, given the phenomenal response to Tumbbad, Sohum Shah has announced Tumbbad 2 with an intriguing teaser featuring characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang, with a voiceover from Sohum Shah saying, "Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega...darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega".
