Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 6: Sohum Shah is one of the talented actors in Bollywood who has impressed everyone with the acting time and prowess. In his career of 15 years, Sohum has been a part of several interesting projects including Talvar, Bard of Blood, The Big Bull, Maharani, Dahaad etc. Interestingly, he is making headlines as one of his most talked about films has re-released in theatres. We are talking about Tumbbad which is a folk horror drama and was re-released in theatres on September 13.

Also starring Rurdra Soni, Harsh K, Anita Date-Kelkar etc, Tumbbad is helmed by Rahi Anil Barve and is written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad and Rahi Anil Barve. The movie is based on a Konkanastha Brahmin family hailing from the cursed village of Tumbbad and its quest for the jinxed ancestral wealth. On the other hand, Tumbbad is already facing the wrath of Gods who have cursed the village with incessant rain for making a temple for the demon God Hastar. As Tumbbad has hit the theatres again, it has managed to take the box office like a breath of fresh air.

The movie went on to rake in an opening day collection of Rs 1.65 crores and has been going strong at the box office ever since. And while Tumbbad did come with a massive dip in numbers on day 4 (first Monday), it has been maintain a steady hold at the box office. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Tumbbad minted Rs 1.68 crores on day 4 (first Monday) followed by a collection of Rs 1.66 crores on day 5 (first Tuesday). And now it has minted Rs 1.42 corres crores taking the overall collections of the movie to Rs 12.11 crores. Interestingly, it is just Rs 1.37 crores away from surpassing its lifetime collection of Rs 13.48 crores

Interestingly, Tumbbad witnessed a box office clash with Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders and the horror drama is giving the Hansal Mehta's directorial a tough fight. As per Sacnilk, The Buckingham Murders has minted Rs 50 lakhs on day 6 (first Wednesday). It is evident that Tumbbad has minted over twice the collections of The Buckingham Murders on day 6.

Meanwhile, given the phenomenal response to Tumbbad, Sohum Shah has announced Tumbbad 2 with an intriguing teaser featuring characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang, with a voiceover from Sohum Shah saying, "Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega...darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega".
