Tumbbad Box Office Day 4 Prediction: Sohum’s Film To See A Dip As It Inches Towards 10Cr Post Re-Release

Tumbbad Box Office Collection Day 4 Prediction: Sohum Shah starrer Tumbbad is all over the headlines these days and rightfully so. After all the folk horror drama, which had earlier released in 2018, has now hit the screens again. Yes! Tumbbad had recently released on September 13 and it has taken the box office by a storm post its re-release. Also starring Rudra Soni, Harsh K, Anita Date-Kelkar etc in the lead, Tumbbad is directed by Rahi Anil Barve and is written by Mitesh Shah, Prasad, Rahi Anil Barve, and Anand Gandhi.

For the uninitiated, Tumbbad revolved around a Konkanastha Brahmin family from the village of Tumbbad who are seeking an ancestral treasure that the gods have jinxed. It is believed that the Gods have been upset with the residents of Tumbbad who apparently built a temple to worship Hastar, the demon god. As a result, Gods cursed the village with incessant rain. As Tumbbad had its release, it has opened to rave reviews and shattering its own recordes was well. The movie which raked in Rs 65 lakhs on day 1 in 2018, earned over twice its collection in 202 and minted Rs 1.65 crores on opening day.

Interestingly, Tumbbaad saw a good hike in collections during the opening weekend post its re-release. The movie made a collection of Rs 2.60 crores on day 2 (first Saturday). Tumbbad saw a hike of over 60% on day 3 (first Sunday) and earned Rs 3.25 crores which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 7.50 crores.

Given the ongoing trend, Tumbbad is likely to witness a massive drop in collections today (day 4/ first Monday). The movie is likely to mint Rs 1-2 crores today at the box office and will be crossing the Rs 8 crores mark today. Interestingly, Tumbbad has been witnessing a box office clash with Kareena Kapoor Khan's The Buckingham Murders and the horror drama is giving Hansal Mehta's crime thriller a tough time.

Meanwhile, given the phenomenal response to Tumbbad, Sohum Shah has announced Tumbbad 2 with an intriguing teaser featuring characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang, with a voiceover from Sohum Shah saying, "Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega...darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega"
