Tumbbad vs The Buckingham Murders Box Office Collection Day 2: The Indian box office witnessed an interesting box office clash this month which has got everyone intrigued. We are talking about clash between Kareena Kapoor Khan's recent release The Buckingham Murders and Sohum Shah's Tumbbad which had a re-release in theatres lately. Both the movies have managed to create a massive buzz in the town despite different genres and are giving each other a tough fight at the box office.
For the uninitiated, Tumbbad happens to be a folk horror film which had initially release in 2018. The movie features ohum Shah, Rurdra Soni, Harsh K, Anita Date-Kelkar etc in the lead. On the other hand, The Buckingham Murders is helmed by Hansal Mehta and features Kareena Kapoor Khan in the role of a British Indian detective who is given the case to investigate the murder of a 10 year old child in Buckinghamshire.

Interestingly, Tumbbad received a grand opening post its re-release at the box office. The movie made an opening day collection of Rs 1.5 crores which is over twice its original collection. On the other hand, The Buckingham Murders which is also co-produced by Kareena, witnessed a slow start at the box office and earned Rs 1.15 crores on its opening day. It is evident that Tumbbad managed to beat The Buckingham Murders on the opening day.

To note, Tumbbad has been maintaining a lead over The Buckingham Murders on the second day of release as well. According to media reports, Tumbbad saw a jump of 45% and earned Rs 2.20 crores on day 2 (first Saturday) taking the overall collections of the movie to Rs 3.70 crores. On the other hand, according to a report published in Sacnilk, The Buckingham Murders raked in Rs 1.9 crores on day 2 (first Saturday) and took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 3.05 crores. While Tumbbad continues to beat The Buckingham Murders at the box office, it will be interesting to see if Kareena's film will be able to pick up pace in the coming days.
Meanwhile, given the phenomenal response to Tumbbad, Sohum Shah has announced Tumbbad 2 with an intriguing teaser featuring characters Vinayak and his son Pandurang, with a voiceover from Sohum Shah saying, "Samay ka pahiya gol hai, jo beet gaya woh fir laut ke aayega...darwaaza bhi ek baar phir khulega"
