Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 8 (Hindi): Rajinikanth’s Film Stays Steady; Mints 3 Times Less Than GOAT

Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 8 (Hindi): Rajinikanth starrer Vettaiyan has been the recent and one of the biggest releases of the year. Directed by T.J Gnanavel, the movie featured Thalaiva in the role of a police officer as he fights Rana Daggubati who plays the role of the lead antagonist in the movie. To note, Vettaiyan happens to be an action drama which also marks Amitabh Bachchan's debut in the Tamil industry as the superstar is also seen playing the role of a police official.

Interestingly, Vettaiyan also marks Amitabh Bachchan's much talked about reunion with Rajinikanth after over three decades. They were last seen in the 1991 release Hum wherein they played the roles of step-brothers. Also starring Fahadh Faasil, Rithika Singh, Abhirami, Manju Warrier, Dushara Vijayan, Rao Ramesh and Ramesh Thilak etc, Vettaiyan has opened to rave reviews from the audience. In fact, Vettaiyan has completed a week at the box office and is going steady so far.

Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 8 (Hindi)

After witnessing a decent run at the box office during the first week, Vettaiyan raked in Rs 3 crores at the box office in the Hindi market. In fact, the movie, which was released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi, Vettaiyan made an overall collection of Rs 118.95 crores in week 1. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Vettaiyan saw steady growth in collection as Vettaiyan minted Rs 20 lakhs in the Hindi market on day 8 (second Thursday) taking the overall collections of the movie to Rs 3.2 crores.

Vettaiyan Fails To Beat The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) On Day 8

As Vettaiyan has been facing constant comparisons with Thalapathy Vijay starrer The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), the Rajinikanth starrer has failed to beat the latter. Yes! While Vettaiyan minted Rs 20 lakhs on day 8 (second Thursday), it is three times less that The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT) which had earned Rs 60 lakhs on its 8th day of release.

Vettaiyan OTT Release Update

According to media reports, Vettaiyan is expected to have its digital release soon. The movie is expected to release on Prime Video next month (November). However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement about the Vettaiyan OTT release.
