Interestingly, Vettaiyan has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages, Vettaiyan marks Amitabh Bachchan's debut in the Tamil industry. This isn't all. It also marks Amitabh's reunion with Rajinikanth after over three decades. They were last seen in the 1991 release Hum which also featured Govinda in the lead. To note, Vettaiyan, which started on a slow note in the Hindi market, saw a steady hold at the box office in the first week. In fact, Vettaiyan raked in Rs 23 lakhs on day 7 (first Wednesday) in the Hindi market and it took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 3 crores. In fact, Vettaiyan also managed to surpass the week 1 collections of Jailer which was around Rs 1.9 crores.

Given the ongoing trend, Vettaiyan is expected to start the second week on a slow note. The movie is expected to earn Rs 15-20 lakhs today (day 8/ second Thursday) and will be inching close to Rs 3.5 crores.

According to media reports, Vettaiyan is expected to have its digital release soon. The movie is expected to release on Prime Video next month (November). However, the makersare yet to make an official announcement about Vettaiyan OTT release.
