Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan Box Office Collection Day 1: Newcomer Shanaya Kapoor is all over the headlines today and rightfully so. After all, the much talked about starkid has finally made her way into movies. Yes! Shanaya has made her debut with the much talked about Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan. Directed by Santosh Singh, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is a romantic drama which also features Vikrant Massey in the lead. Given the cast, trailer and of course Shanaya's debut, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year.

For the uninitiated, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan is based on Ruskin Bond's much talked about short story, The Eyes Have It. To note, while Shanaya plays the role of a theatre artist in the movie, Vikrant is seen as a visually impaired musician. The movie is based on the duo's train journey through the Himalayas and how they formed a bond through their voice and touch. As Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan created a lot of buzz, it opened to a much disappointing start at the box office

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan made an opening day collection of Rs 35 lakhs (first Friday)

Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan Records Lowest Opening Of 2025

While Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan has failed to touch Rs 50 lakhs on the day of release, it has recorded the lowest opening of 2025. This isn't all. It has also recorded the lowest opening for Vikrant of all times.

Meanwhile, as Vikrant and Shanaya's intimate scenes in Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan have been grabbing eyeballs, the 12th Fail actor told Filmygyan, "We've spoken about this. I think it's the trust factor that was built over a point of time. It strikes me that we are both very alike as people. Besides the acting workshop, or you know, chaahe fir woh blind school ki baat ho ya fir you know the challenges as actors we faced, uske alawa when we got to know each other as people, especially during the scene when we opened up as Vikrant and Shanaya and not just as actors, I think that also brought us closer".
