Akaal, after experiencing a slowdown in its earnings on the second day, made a notable recovery by the first Saturday. It registered a substantial increase, with collections soaring by more than 52%. A report by Sacnilk highlighted that on its third day, Akaal managed to accumulate Rs 90 lakhs. This surge in revenue propelled the total box office collections of the movie to Rs 2.34 crores within just three days of hitting the screens.

Given the ongoing trend, Akaal is likely to see a hike at the box office as it is Baisakhi today. The movie is expected to earn Rs 1 crores today (day 4/ first Sunday) and will be inching close to Rs 3.5 crores mark in Punjabi and Hindi languages combined during the opening weekend
During the unveiling of the "Akaal" trailer, Karan Johar opened up about the bond his father, Yash Johar, shared with his Punjabi background. He recounted Yash Johar's profound love for his cultural heritage, highlighting how despite being raised in an environment where Hindi and English were the main languages due to his mother's Sindhi heritage, his father's connection to Punjab and its traditions was undiminished. This deep-rooted love even extended to a wish for Karan to speak with him in Punjabi, reflecting the depth of his attachment to his origins.
