In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal stated that Akaal is likely to mint Rs 25-30 lakhs on the opening day (day 1/ first Thursday)
In an emotive nod to his heritage, Karan Johar described the film Akaal as a homage to his father Yash Johar's Punjabi ancestry during the trailer launch. He recounted his father's deep connections to the Punjabi culture, highlighting his life in various Punjabi-speaking regions including Punjab, Delhi, Shimla, and Lahore. Johar vividly remembered his father's attachment to Punjabi traditions and his desire for Karan to communicate with him in Punjabi. However, due to his mother's Sindhi background, the family predominantly conversed in Hindi or English.
Expressing pride in Dharma Production's inaugural Punjabi film, Johar believes that wherever his father is, he would be immensely proud of this venture. He couldn't envision a better partner for this project than Gippy Grewal, whom he praised for his humility, talent, and achievements. "I couldn't have chosen a better and stronger and amazing collaborator than Gippy Grewal, he is a strong force. He is so humble, talented, and has attained so much. I'm very excited about this film.
