In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat's Ranpreet, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal stated that Avatar: Fire and Ash is expected to see a good start in India and is likely to make a collection of Rs 25cr on the opening day. In fact, the movie saw an occupancy of 53.74% during the morning shows and minted Rs 3cr until 12:30 pm

Interestingly, Avatar: Fire and Ash has been facing comparisons with Avatar: The Way of Water. However, if the prediction turned out to be true Avatar 3 will fail to beat Avatar 2 on the opening day as the latter minted Rs 40.3cr on its day of release.

Meanwhile, as fans have been wondering about the future of the franchise, James Cameron told The Hollywood Reporter, "This can be the last one. There's only one [unanswered question] in the story. We may find that the release of Avatar 3 proves how diminished the cinematic experience is these days, or we may find it proves the case that it's as strong as it ever was - but only for certain types of films. It's a coin toss right now. We won't know until the middle of January."
