Baby John Box Office Collection 12

Baby John Box Office Collection Day 12: Varun Dhawan has been the talk of the town ever since his film had hit the theatres. We are talking about Baby John which is an action drama also starring Wamiqa Gabbi, Keerthy Suresh, Jackie Shroff and Sanya Malhotra in the lead. Directed by Kalees and produced by Atlee and Murad Khetani, it has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year and has been the official Bollywood remake of the 2016 release Tamil movie Theri starring Thalapathy Vijay and Samantha in the lead

Interestingly, Baby John marks Keerthy Suresh's big Bollywood debut and also marks her first collaboration with Varun Dhawan. This isn't all. While Jackie Shroff is seen playing the role of lead antagonist, Baby John features Varun Dhawan in the titular role of a cop and marks his second film as a cop after Dishoom. Though Baby John managed to create a massive buzz in the town, the movie has been struggling at the box office

Baby John Box Office Collection Day 12

To note, as Baby Joh has been struggling at the box office in the first week, there were hopes for the movie to pick up pace during the weekend. However, much to everyone's surprise, Baby John failed to touch Rs 1 crore mark in a day at the box office despite hike in collection. According to a report published in Sacnilk, Baby John which minted Rs 75 lakhs on day 11 (second Saturday), raked in Rs 90 lakhs in day 12 (second Sunday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 38.60 crores.

Baby John Second Weekend Collection

In fact, Baby John witnessed a very sluggish performance during the second weekend. To note, with a collection of Rs 75 lakhs on second Saturday and Rs 90 lakhs on second Sunday, the second weekend collection of Baby John stands at Rs 1.65 crores.

Meanwhile, Varun, in an interview with India Today, spoke about taking inspiration from Theri and stated. "When Atlee came with this film, there was a reason behind it, and he said that we had to change a lot of the geography of the film. We have to use it as an adaptation and not really a proper remake, and I think that's what's done. Like you see, a lot of the frames and a lot of the story angles are different. So, if someone comes in expecting a book-by-book remake, they will be disappointed because that's not what the film is. It's an adaptation. We're not running away from that, but it's more of an adaptation".
