Chhaava is based on the novel of Shivaji Sawant, who tells the story of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, and his courage to stand against the brutal force of Mughal army to save his motherland. Vicky Kaushal, who plays the role of Maratha King Chhatrapati, has been paired with Rashmika Mandanna, who was also seen in Pushpa 2 as Srivalli. Rashmika plays the role Yesubai Bhonsale, who played an important part behind Chhatrapati's strength and making strategic decision in Chhatrapati's absence.

The movie is also example of how Vicky Kaushal's collaboration with director Laxman Utekar has turned out to be fruitful much like their earlier movie, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, where Vicky paired up with Sara Ali Khan. To note more, the worldwide collection is the summation of overseas collection and the India gross collection of the movie, which stands at Rs. 3.10 Cr on day 33 making the total worldwide collection standing at Rs. 767.25 Cr.

While Chhaava minted Rs. 3.25 Cr on day 33. Pushpa 2 earned Rs. 3 Cr on day 33, which was the movie's 5th Monday, seeing no change in overseas collection. Not only that, Chhaava has also beaten Pushpa 2 in terms of 5th Tuesday collection. On 5th Tuesday, i.e., the day 33 of the Allu Arjun's movie earned the same, Rs. 3 Cr.

Recently Divya talked to Mid-Day, and revealed how one of her scenes conspiring against Chhatrapri is deleted. She said, "My director (Laxman Utekar) is a sweetheart. He just said the biggest apology that this had to happen. It was the length and something. I cannot get into the process of filmmaking and how it reaches the audience."
