Chhaava Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 40: Chhaava continues to dominate the box office with its presence even after 40 days. The Vicky Kaushal starrer has smashed the box office records of multiple blockbusters including Baahubali: The Beginning, Salaar Part 1, Jailer, Sultan, PK, among others. Now, on its day 40, the movie has seen a significant jump in overseas collection compared to day 39, which is quite unlikely in midweek. For the unversed, this also marks Vicky Kaushal's career's biggest blockbuster, which came after collaborating with Laxman Utekar, with whom the actor has already collaborated in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke.

Chhaava revolves around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who fought for his motherland against the brutal force of Mughal. The movie is based on the novel of Shivaji Sawant of the same name where Chhatrapati's courage and valour were mentioned and how his wife Yesubai Bhonsale had been a part of all the strategic decisions of Maratha empire in the absence of Chhatrapati. Other than Vicky, the movie also stars Rashmika Mandanna as Yesubai Bhonsale, Akshaye Khanna as Aurengzeb, Diana Penty, Divya Dutt, and Ashutosh Rana, among others.

Chhaava has earned Rs. 2.25 Cr on day 40 from worldwide box office, which makes the total box office collection standing at Rs. 789.65 Cr. From overseas, the movie has earned Rs. 40 lakhs on day 40 making the total overseas collection Rs. 91 Cr. The India gross collection of the film stands at Rs. 698.65 Cr, which is an important component to come up with the worldwide collection.

On day 40, the movie has seen a significant jump in overseas collection compared to day 39 when it earned Rs. 10 lakhs from the overseas. Even in terms of worldwide collection, the movie has seen a jump of about Rs. 25 lakhs in collection on day 40 compared to day 39 when it earned Rs. 2 Cr.

While Chhaava marks Vicky Kaushal's career's first blockbuster, there could be another blockbuster in his kitty. It was Stree 2 to which Vicky Kaushal said no to. In his appearance on Neha Dhupia's BFF with Vogue, he was asked to name a movie that he regrets rejecting, "Stree, that was because I was doing Manmarziyaan (at the same time)," he said.

However, he further mentioned, "I don't [overthink] my choices too much. Because that would make me calculative. That would make me want to do films with a preconceived outcome in mind. And I feel if I analyse my work too much, I'd jinx it for myself. Right now, I'm allowing myself room for discovery and there's a lot of joy in it."

While Vicky's character in Chhaava garnered praise, Rashmika's character has faced criticism, to which Divya Dutt answered, "Although we didn't have scenes together, I believe she is an incredible actor. If you look at her kohl-rimmed eyes in certain scenes, they are simply mesmerising. Let's not forget that she has delivered several hits, which clearly means she has something that resonates with the audience. From what I know, she is a hardworking and genuinely sweet person. Mujhe toh bahut pyaari lagti hai (I find her adorable), I don't know what others think."

She further added, "The thing is, everyone will have a different opinion. Some might say, 'Oh, you should have had a longer role in the film,' while others might say, 'Oh, you had a great presence.' Whether it's for me or Rashmika, we gave our best, others did their part, and now the audience is doing theirs. What truly matters is that the film is performing well and is among the biggest blockbusters of the year-we should celebrate that."
