Chhaava Box Office Day 27: Vicky's Period Drama Sees 1% Rise In Footfall In Evening Shows On 4th Wednesday

Chhava Box Office Day 27: Chhaava has already become the highest-grossing film in 2025 shattering the multiple records of many other highest-grossing films like Baahubali: The Beginning, Gadar 2, Sultan, Jailer, Padmaavat, among others. The Vicky Kaushal-Rashmika Mandanna starrer is now inching closer to make its position among the top 10 Indian highest-grossing movies of all time.
The Laxman Utekar directorial revolves around the novel of the same name, written by Shivaji Sawant. Fans saw Vicky Kaushal in the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, who held a place in history for his bravery and courage to protect his motherland against the Mughal forces. On the other hand, Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Yesubai Bhonsale, wife of Chhatrapati, who played a significant role in strategic decisions during the ruling of Maratha empire. The movie, which marks the second collaboration of Vicky and Laxman Utekar after Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, has turned out to be fruitful yet again after delivering the last hit.
Chhaava has already crossed a few significant milestone at the box office so far, i.e., the movie has crossed Rs. 700 Cr worldwide, and crossed Rs. 600 Cr gross at the domestic box office. In its 4th week, the movie has still remained unstoppable even on weekdays. However, on 4th Wednesday, the movie has witnessed meagre 1% rise in footfall in evening occupancy.

Chhaava has already been roaring at the box office for the excellent cinematography coupled with superb acting and and mind-numbing script. While the brutality by the Mughal force on Chhatrapati shown in the film has caused pain for many, actor Vineet Kumar Singh, who played a pivotal role in the film, recently revealed to Indian Express that it was actually toned down for the sake of visuals, however, in reality, it was much more than that, "So, the brutality that happened during that time, people have only seen a part of it in Chhaava, that too quite toned down. Ek maheene se zyada waqt tak aap kisi ko torture karahe ho, agar aap usko shoot karoge, toh aap samajh rahe ho aapko kya dekhne ko milega?"
He further said, "I have been a doctor, and I have seen people coming in the emergency ward after horrific accidents. When we used antiseptic to clean their wounds, baap baap chillaate hain log, naani yaad ajaati hai. Even fixing a fracture makes people scream out of pain."
Contrasting to his real life experience, Vineet added, "Meanwhile in Chhaava, salt is being rubbed on open wounds. You can go and meet people to listen to such stories. I went there to take blessings before starting the film. As an actor, I follow the director once I've said yes to the script. I can only improvise in a certain limit of what's written."
Chhaava also stars Akshaye Khanna, Ashutosh Rana, Divya Dutta, Pradeep Ram Rawat, Diana Penty, among others. The movie is bankrolled by Maddock Films which also produced superhit films like Stree 2, Mimi, Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, among others.
