Deva Box Office Collection Day 1 Prediction: Shahid Kapoor, who is one of the most popular and versatile actors in Bollywood, is all over the headlines these days and rightfully so. After all, he is coming up with his first release of the year - Deva. Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, Deva is an action crime thriller and is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Apart from Shahid, Deva also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati, Kubbra Sait etc in key roles.

Interestingly, Deva marks Shahid's first collaboration with Pooja Hegde and also happens to be Rosshan Andrrews' Bollywood debut. This isn't all. According to media reports, Deva is a the remake of the 2013 release Malayalam film Mumbai Police and was also helmed by Rosshan Andrrewws. From songs to trailer, everything about Deva has managed to create a massive buzz in the town leaving the fans wondering how Deva will fare at the box office.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal suggested that Deva is expected to see a decent start at the box office. The movie is likely to rake in between Rs 6-8 crores and the collection is likely to increase on the basis of word of mouth.

Will Deva Beat Kabir Singh?

Ever since Deva trailer was released, there have been endless comparisons between this Shahid starrer to his 2019 release Kabir Singh. And while fans have been speculating if Deva can beat Kabir Singh, if the early predictions are to be believed, Deva will fail to surpass the opening day collection of Kabir Singh. For the uninitiated, Kabir Singh had minted Rs 20.21 crores on its day of release.

Meanwhile, talking about his physical transformation for Deva, Shahid told Zoom, "So, what I wanted to do with this character was, I didn't want to make him metrosexual, chiseled-no. I felt like he should look very rugged. In my head, I always thought he should be like a bulldog. "They're these broad-shouldered, stout beings. They don't have much hair, and they look tough. Aise lagta hai na, maar denge aise. Mera feeling wahi tha ki he should be this tough guy. They're raw, and they look strong. Jisko dekhke lagega, isse panga maat lo. Isse dur raho. Toh mujhe thoda woh vibe chahiye tha".
