Deva Box Office Collection Day 1: Shahid Kapoor came with the perfect treat for his fans lately with his new release Deva. The movie, which has been helmed by Rosshan Andrrews, is a crime action thriller and also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait in key roles. To note, Deva features Shahid in the role of a ferocious inspector as Dev Ambre. Interestingly, Deva marks Shahid's first collaboration with Pooja Hegde and they have managed to create a lot of buzz in the town with their sizzling chemistry.

For the uninitiated, Deva happens to be the remake of Malayalam film Mumbai Police starring Prithviraj Sukumaran which was also directed by filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews. In fact, Deva also marks Rosshan Andrrews much awaited debut in Bollywood. From the impressive cast, trailer and peppy songs, everything about Deva has been the talk of the town. However, despite the massive buzz, Deva saw a slow start at the box office on the opening day

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Deva, which earned Rs 1.67 crores from the advance booking, made a collection of Rs 5 crores on its opening day (day 1/first Friday).

Interestingly, with a collection of Rs 5 crores, Deva turned out to be Shahid Kapor's second highest opener for Shahid Kapoor post COVID 19 pandemic after the 2024 release Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. This isn't all. It has also recorded the third highest opening of 2025 after Sky Force and Game Changer (Hindi) respectively.

Meanwhile, talking about his physical transformation for Deva, Shahid told Zoom, "So, what I wanted to do with this character was, I didn't want to make him metrosexual, chiseled-no. I felt like he should look very rugged. In my head, I always thought he should be like a bulldog. "They're these broad-shouldered, stout beings. They don't have much hair, and they look tough. Aise lagta hai na, maar denge aise. Mera feeling wahi tha ki he should be this tough guy. They're raw, and they look strong. Jisko dekhke lagega, isse panga maat lo. Isse dur raho. Toh mujhe thoda woh vibe chahiye tha".
