After all, his recent release Deva has been creating waves in the industry ever since it was announced. Directed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, Deva has been a much talked about crime action thriller which also features Pooja Hegde, Pavail Gulati along with Pravesh Rana, Kubbra Sait etc in the lead. After recording an opening day collection of Rs 5.5 crores, Deva saw a slight hike in numbers on the second day of release. The movie minted Rs 6.25 crores yesterday (day 2/ first Saturday) which took the overall collections of the movie to Rs 11.75 crores

Given the ongoing trend, Deva is expected to see another hike in numbers today (day 3/ first Sunday) at the box office. The movie is expected to mint Rs 7-9 crores and will be inching close to Rs 20 crores mark during the opening weekend

Meanwhile, talking about his physical transformation for Deva, Shahid told Zoom, "So, what I wanted to do with this character was, I didn't want to make him metrosexual, chiseled-no. I felt like he should look very rugged. In my head, I always thought he should be like a bulldog. "They're these broad-shouldered, stout beings. They don't have much hair, and they look tough. Aise lagta hai na, maar denge aise. Mera feeling wahi tha ki he should be this tough guy. They're raw, and they look strong. Jisko dekhke lagega, isse panga maat lo. Isse dur raho. Toh mujhe thoda woh vibe chahiye tha".
