Deva Box Office Day 2: Shahid’s Film Sees Slight Dip In Footfalls In Morning Shows On Saturday Than Day 1

Deva Box Office Collection Day 1 (Morning Show Occupancy): Shahid Kapoor's latest cinematic venture, Deva, directed by Rosshan Andrrews, has been creating ripples across the entertainment industry with its engaging storyline and thrilling action sequences. This crime action thriller not only showcases Shahid in a new avatar as the fierce inspector Dev Ambre but also introduces his first on-screen pairing with Pooja Hegde. Their electrifying chemistry has been a significant talking point, heightening anticipation amongst fans. The film also stars Pavail Gulati and Kubbra Sait in pivotal roles, further adding to the stellar ensemble cast.
Deva serves as a milestone for director Rosshan Andrrews, marking his entry into Bollywood. This film is a remake of the Malayalam hit Mumbai Police, which featured Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead and was also directed by Andrrews. The transition of this story from the Malayalam cinema landscape to Bollywood under Andrrews' direction has been seamless, retaining the essence that made the original a success. The director's Bollywood debut with Deva has been eagerly anticipated by fans and critics alike, given his reputation for crafting compelling narratives. Despite the significant anticipation generated by its cast, trailer, and music, Deva had a somewhat underwhelming opening day at the box office.
Deva Morning Show Occupancy Day 2

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Deva, which saw a footfall of 5.87% during the morning shows today (day 1/ first Friday), recorded an occupancy of 5.84% in the morning shows today (day 2/ first Saturday).
Did Deva Beat Kabir Singh On Day 2 Occupancy (Morning Show)?
While Deva has been announced, it has been frequently compared with Shahid's 2019 release Kabir Singh. However, Deva is struggling to match Kabir Singh's level. While Deva recorded an occupancy of 5.84% in morning shows on day 2, Kabir Singh had recorded a footfall of 55&-60%% in morning shows on its second day of release.
Meanwhile, talking about his physical transformation for Deva, Shahid told Zoom, "So, what I wanted to do with this character was, I didn't want to make him metrosexual, chiseled-no. I felt like he should look very rugged. In my head, I always thought he should be like a bulldog. "They're these broad-shouldered, stout beings. They don't have much hair, and they look tough. Aise lagta hai na, maar denge aise. Mera feeling wahi tha ki he should be this tough guy. They're raw, and they look strong. Jisko dekhke lagega, isse panga maat lo. Isse dur raho. Toh mujhe thoda woh vibe chahiye tha".
