Deva vs Sky Force Morning Shows Occupancy: Akshay Kumar has been all over the headlines and rightfully so. After all, his recent release Sky Force has been one of the most talked about releases of the year. The action drama also features newcomer Veer Pahariya along with Sara Ali Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Sharad Kelkar. The movie is based on India's first airstrike, the Sargodha airbase attack on Pakistan in the Indo-Pakistani air war of 1965. After winning hearts for a week, it witnessed a fresh competition with Shahid Kapoor's Deva today (January 31, 2025)

For the uninitiated, Deva, which is helmed by Malayalam filmmaker Rosshan Andrrews, is a crime action thriller which also features Pooja Hegde and Pavail Gulati in the lead. The movie features Shahid in a role of a cop and Deva marks Rosshan Andrrews debut in Bollywood. To note, Deva happens to be the remake of 2013 release Malayala film Mumbai Police. As it has finally hit the screens today, it has been facing a tough competition from Sky Force.

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Deva, which is expected to see slow start saw a footfall of 5.87% during the morning shows today (day 1/ first Friday).

On the other hand, Sky Force witnessed an occupancy of 7.89% during the morning shows today despite entering the second week.

It is evident that Sky Force, despite entering the second week, continues to be the audience's favourite over Deva which had just released today. It will be interesting to see if Deva will pick up pace in the coming days

Meanwhile, talking about his physical transformation for Deva, Shahid told Zoom, "So, what I wanted to do with this character was, I didn't want to make him metrosexual, chiseled-no. I felt like he should look very rugged. In my head, I always thought he should be like a bulldog. "They're these broad-shouldered, stout beings. They don't have much hair, and they look tough. Aise lagta hai na, maar denge aise. Mera feeling wahi tha ki he should be this tough guy. They're raw, and they look strong. Jisko dekhke lagega, isse panga maat lo. Isse dur raho. Toh mujhe thoda woh vibe chahiye tha".
