Emergency Box Office Collection Day 4: Kangana Ranaut, celebrated for her roles in critically acclaimed films like Queen and Manikarnika: The Queen Of Jhansi, is making waves with her latest project, Emergency. The movie takes inspiration from the life of Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India, particularly focusing on the controversial period of the Indian emergency. Its trailer had stirred a considerable amount of public interest and debate, marking it as a highly awaited film of the year.
The movie Emergency showcases a powerful ensemble cast that significantly enhances its storytelling depth. Anupam Kher transforms into Jayaprakash Narayan, and Shreyas Talpade brings to life Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Adding to the film's gravitas is Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw. The cast is further bolstered by the talents of Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, and Satish Kaushik, each contributing to the movie's intricate narrative. Despite the high anticipation and a strong promotional buzz, Emergency has received a mixed reception from viewers. Nonetheless, it has maintained a respectable performance at the box office.

Meanwhile, Emergency is once again mired by controversy as Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) demanded a ban on the release in Punjab citing it might spark outrage in the Sikh community. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Thursday wrote to Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann. This didn't go down well with Kangana who stated, "This is complete harassment of art and the artist, from Punjab many cities are reporting that these people are not allowing Emergency to be screened. I have utmost respect for all religions and after studying and growing up in Chandigarh I have closely observed and followed Sikh religion. This is a complete lie and propaganda to tarnish my image and harm my film #Emergency".
