Emergency Box Office Collection Day 6

Emergency Box Office Collection Day 6: Ever since its announcement, the movie Emergency, featuring Kangana Ranaut, has been the center of attention in the film industry. This historical biographical drama, where Kangana takes the lead role embodying Indira Gandhi, delves into the former prime minister's life and the tumultuous period of the Indian emergency. Kangana has not only acted in the lead role but has also taken on the responsibilities of directing, writing, and co-producing the film, making it one of the year's most eagerly awaited releases.

The cast of Emergency is studded with notable talents such as Anupam Kher portraying Jayaprakash Narayan, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, and Shreyas Talpade stepping into the shoes of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. The ensemble is further enriched with performances by Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, and Satish Kaushik, promising a potent mix of talent and screen presence. Emergency's journey to the big screen has been fraught with discussions and debates, especially following the debut of its trailer last year, leading to widespread speculation regarding how it will fare financially.

Emergency Box Office Collection Day 6

According to a report published in Sacnilk, Emergency saw a massive drop in numbers on first Monday. The movie minted Rs 1.05 crores on day 4 (first Monday) followed by a collection of Rs 1 crores on day 5 (first Tuesday). Interestingly, Emergency was seen struggling to rake in Rs 1 crores on day 6. The movie minted Rs 87 lakhs on day 6 (first Wednesday) which took the overall collections of the Kangana starrer to Rs 13.27 crores

Emergency Beats Azaad On First Wednesday

Interestingly, Emergency witnessed a box office clash with Rasha Thadani and Aaman Devgn's debut film Azaad and the latter seems to have fallen flat at the ticket windows. In fact, Emergency has been leading over Azaad since the first day and minted more than the Abhishek Kapoor's directorial on first Wednesday. While Emergency minted Rs 87 lakhs on day 6, Azaad had to settle at Rs 62 lakhs.

Meanwhile, Emergency is once again mired by controversy as Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) demanded a ban on the release in Punjab citing it might spark outrage in the Sikh community. SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami on Thursday wrote to Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann. This didn't go down well with Kangana who stated, "This is complete harassment of art and the artist, from Punjab many cities are reporting that these people are not allowing Emergency to be screened. I have utmost respect for all religions and after studying and growing up in Chandigarh I have closely observed and followed Sikh religion. This is a complete lie and propaganda to tarnish my image and harm my film #Emergency".
