Ground Zero Box Office Collection Day 1 Prediction: Emraan Hashmi is creating a buzz for his first movie of the year and his fans are quite excited. We are talking about Ground Zero which is an action thriller. To note, Ground Zero marks his return to the big screen after 1.5 years as he was last seen in Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's 2023 release Tiger 3. Directed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar and backed by producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, Ground Zero is said to be based on real life events and also stars Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain in significant roles.

To note, Ground Zero tells the story of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, played by Emraan Hashmi, who spearheaded an operation that resulted in the elimination of the terrorist Rana Tahir Nadeem, also known as Ghazi Baba back in 2003. The real-life heroism of BSF officer Dubey, who was honoured with the Kirti Chakra for his bravery, forms the crux of the narrative.

Despite the compelling real-life story Ground Zero was seen to be struggling to generate significant pre-release excitement. In fact, the advance booking for the film opened to a lacklustre response, indicating a rough start at the box office. As Ground Zero is hitting the screens today, there have been speculations about the movie's opening day collection.

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal stated that Ground Zero is likely to have a slow start at the box office. He asserted that the Emraan Hashmi starrer is likely to mint Rs 70-90 lakhs today (day 1/ first Friday)

While Ground Zero has been facing competition with Akshay Kumar's Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story Of Jallianwala Bagh and Sunny Deol's Jaat, it is going to be a tough fight for the Emraan starrer. In fact, if the box office prediction turns out to be true, Ground Zero will emerge as Emraan's second lowest opener post COVID-19 after Chehre. In fact, it is also likely to be the lowest opener of 2025 so far.

Meanwhile, talking about Ground Zero and his character, Emraan stated, "There's an old phrase that sometimes truth is stranger than fiction and this phrase is appropriate for this film. I remember meeting Mr. Dubey, whose character I am portraying, for the first time. I remember telling him that his story is more filmy than a film. And it really is. Just like our brave BSF officers. The officer who all planned this and the encounter happened in 2003. It's nothing short of extraordinary and unbelievable"
