Ground Zero Hit or Flop: Emraan Hashmi is set to return to the big screen after 1.5 years and his fans can't keep calm. Last seen in Salman Khan's 2023 release Tiger 3 as a lead antagonist, Emraan is now coming with Ground Zero which is an action thriller drama based on real life event. Helmed by Tejas Prabha Vijay Deoskar, the movie feature Emraan in the role of a BSF officer for the first time on screen. Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, Ground Zero also features Sai Tamhankar and Zoya Hussain in significant roles.

Ground Zero's narrative centers around the valiant efforts of BSF officer Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, portrayed by Emraan Hashmi, in leading a crucial operation that culminated in the demise of the notorious terrorist Rana Tahir Nadeem, widely recognized as Ghazi Baba, in 2003. This film sheds light on the true story of Dubey's heroism, for which he was bestowed with the Kirti Chakra, a prestigious recognition of bravery. Though Ground Zero has been struggling to create a substantial buzz, there have been speculations about when this Emraan Hashmi starrer will be a hit at the box office.

According to a report published in Cine Sparsh, Ground Zero is made with a budget of Rs 20-25 crores and the principal photography took place in Jammu and Kashmir

In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat, film business expert Rohit Jaiswal stated that Ground Zero is expected to make an opening day collection of around Rs 70-90 lakhs.

If the box office reports turned out to be true, Ground Zero is expected to become Emraan's second lowest opener after Chehre in the post COVID era. In fact, the movie will emerge as Emraan's third lowest opener in 18 years after Chehre and The Body. This isn't all. Ground Zero is also likely to be the lowest opener of 2025.

Will Ground Zero Be Hit or Flop?

So far, Ground Zero has failed to have a substantial buzz among the fans. And while the action thriller drama is likely to have a poor start at the box office, the movie will have to cross its budget to be a hit and fans are quite hopeful for the same. However, the exact results will depend on how Ground Zero will fare at the box office in the coming days.
