Written and directed by by Gopichand Malineni, making his Bollywood debut, Jaat follows the story of a mysterious stranger (played by Sunny Deol) who saves the long-suffering village from the terror of ruthless villains, played by Randeep Hooda and Vineet Kumar Singh. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, Jaat is said to be mounted on a whopping budget of Rs 100 crores.

If reports are to be believed, Netflix has acquired the post-theatrical digital streaming rights of Sunny Deol's Jaat. That means, the film will have its OTT premiere on Netflix after its theatrical run. However, the OTT release date is yet to be announced.

Sunny Deol is on his way to get his second biggest-opening film of his career after 'Gadar 2'. According to the real-time Sacnilk updates, Jaat has already touched Rs 7.59 cr today (day 1) till 7:05 PM IST. The movie has already surpassed opening day earnings of several other highly-anticipated Bollywood films of 2025 including Shahid Kapoor's Deva, John Abraham's The Diplomat, Sonu Sood's Fateh and Kangana Ranaut starrer Emergency among others.

Given the current buzz, Jaat is likely to witness even more surge in numbers in the night show. For those unversed, Gadar 1 (2023) had opened to a whopping collection of Rs 40.1 cr.
