Jaat Box Office Collection Day 13: Sunny Deol's Film Inches Towards Rs 80 Cr. Will It Beat Salman's Sikandar?

Jaat Box Office Collection Day 13: Sunny Deol's Jaat is on a roll these days. After the success of Gadar 2, the Bollywood star proved that his impact in the tier 2 and tier 3 markets is intact even after several years. Following the success of Gadar 2, Deol returned with another masala entertainer, Jaat, taking the box office by storm.
JAAT 2 CONFIRMED
When Jaat was released in theatres, little did the industry know that it would emerge as a successful affair. Sunny Deol's magic has worked like a charm in the single screens across the tier 2 and tier 3 cities. The film co-starring Randeep Hooda and Regina Cassandra has been performing well in the ticket windows.
Considering the success of the action film, the makers have announced the sequel. Last week, Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory confirmed that Jaat 2 is in the pipeline. They made an official announcement, leaving the cinephiles excited.
Expressing his excitement, Sunny Deol shared a post on Instagram to announce the second installment.
JAAT CROSSES RS 75 CRORE MARK, WILL IT BEAT SIKANDAR?
Jaat managed to enter the Rs 75 crore club in the second week, earning a little over Rs 5 crore on the second Sunday. Taran Adarsh shared the second weekend box office collection of the film on social media, mentioning that the film continued its strong grip in the mass markets. Interestingly, Sunday (April 20) recorded the best numbers for the second weekend.
The trade analyst stated that Kesari Chapter 2 impacted the performance of Jaat in urban multiplexes. Sunny Deol's film continued to rake in decent moolah in the mass-dominated circuits.
"75 NOT OUT... #Jaat crosses the ₹ 75 cr mark, posting a respectable total in Weekend 2... While #KesariChapter2 impacted its performance at urban multiplexes, the film continues to maintain a strong hold in mass-dominated circuits. Sunday, in particular, recorded the best numbers of Weekend 2, reaffirming its solid connect with its core audience (sic)," Adarsh tweeted.
According to Sacnilk's early estimates, Jaat has earned around Rs 2 crore on its second Tuesday, taking the total collection to Rs 78.25 crore. The action drama is inching closer towards the Rs 80 crore mark.
Salman Khan-starrer Sikandar started on a flying note, earning Rs 26 crore on the opening day. However, it soon fizzled out, failing to impress the audience. Be it the critics or his hardcore fans, everyone is disappointed with Sikandar's performance. Salman's ardent followers have urged up to take up quality projects where he can showcase his acting skills like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Sultan.
The fans have even requested Salman Khan to change his PR team, mentioning that he is not selecting the right kind of projects.
Talking about the box office collection of Sikandar, the film will end its lifetime net domestic earnings at Rs 110.1 crore, as per the data published on Sacnilk. If Sunny Deol wants to beat Salman Khan in the numbers race, Jaat needs to earn over Rs 32 crore. Considering the dip in box office collection on weekdays, Jaat has a tough test ahead.
If Ground Zero picks up pace and Kesari Chapter 2 continues to gain momentum, it will be difficult for Jaat to gain solid numbers to beat Sikandar. There has been a reduction in the number of shows for Jaat across multiplexes. Considering the same, Jaat will have to set the cash registers jingling to beat Sikandar.
